Welcome, new 6th grader!
Your Sixth Grade Transition Day is scheduled for Wednesday, August 27th, 2008 from 7:45 am-11:45 a.m. Your sixth grade teachers are eager to meet you and have a fun day planned for you. Please read on for more information about this special day.
When you arrive at the Sixth Grade Transition Day, go through the main door to receive your schedule in the gym, then go to your Mustang Minutes classroom. It will be the first class listed on your schedule. Do not go to your locker! Bring all your supplies with you.
Things to bring with you to Mustang Minutes on the Sixth Grade Transition Day
- School supplies
- P.E. uniform money ( $14 in a sealed envelope with student name on the front, checks should be made payable to Maplewood Middle School)
- Lunch money – in a sealed envelope with student name and pin # on the front (checks preferred, payable to ISD 622, please write student pin # on the check)
- Completed Health/Emergency Card (will be included in the mailing going out to 6th graders, mid-August)
Other important notes to help you make the most of your Sixth Grade Transition Day
- Be at the bus stop early, the buses will run slightly ahead of schedule
- If you do not want hot lunch, bring a bag lunch.
- Bus riders will board the buses at approximately 11:45 a.m. to return home. Bus routes will be posted on the district website in August, visit: www.isd622.org. On transition day please have your student outside approximately 10 minutes before your bus is schedule to arrive.
- Although this day has been planned for students only, you are welcome to return to school with your parents for Back to School Day between 1:00-4:00 p.m. You are also invited to attend a parent/child orientation for sixth graders at one of the following times: 1:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. in room 208 at Maplewood (you do not need to reserve a time).
