Our Mission
Maplewood Middle School exists to educate children in a safe, nurturing, and mutually respectful environment. We will provide:

A climate which promotes involvement and open communication among stakeholders in Maplewood Middle School

A curriculum which addresses affective, cognitive, and psychomotor needs of the early adolescent

A staff who uses varied instructional strategies to meet the needs of the young adolescent

A smooth transition process from elementary school to high school

A commitment to physical, intellectual and social wellness of students and staff

Goal #1: The average percentage of all students at Maplewood Middle School achieving reading proficiency according to the 7th grade MCA test and 8th grade BST test shall meet or exceed the Minnesota state average.

Goal #2: The average percentage of all students at Maplewood Middle School achieving math proficiency according to the 8th grade MCA test and the 8th grade BST test shall meet or exceed the Minnesota state average.

Goal #3: We will increase communication with and among staff, students and parents.

Goal #4: We will enhance our school climate by promoting respect and positive relationships among students, staff and community.
