Let me introduce myself!

I have been teaching for the past 11 years, the last ten have been here at Maplewood Middle School. I live in Shoreview with my husband Jim and two daughters Kendall & McKenzie. I truly love what I do and am passionate about all my students. I take pride in the learning and activity that come out of health and physical education. Therefore, I am always open to phone calls and emails if you have any questions or concerns about what may be happening either inside or outside of my classroom. I am looking forward to another great year and appreciate all of your support!

This year my 6th grade students will be starting out with nine weeks of health. I know this may be difficult for some students, and even myself, to not be physically active but, I feel, that our health class teaches important topics that will immediately apply to my students lives. Therefore, immersing ourselves for nine weeks will prove to be beneficial to their learning. I hope that during this nine week period that my students will be active outside of school. We will be creating activity logs that should be kept at home and recorded on at least three to five times per week. This will be coming home the first week of school.

Finally, in mid October, my classes will have the opportunity to have a student teacher. She is from Bethel University and will be with us through December.
