ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES AT MAPLEWOOD
Getting involved with athletics at Maplewood Middle School is a great way to meet friends, keep busy, stay healthy and become a more skilled athlete.
The following information should help answer some general questions regarding our athletic program.

NOTE: Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving are available to students in grades 7-8. Students can be part of North or Tartan team depending on where they are attending high school. Contact the activities office at North High, 748-6022, or Tartan 748-8620 for more information on Swimming and Diving.
WHAT IS NECESSARY FOR MY CHILD TO PARTICIPATE?
All participants MUST have a current physical on file at Maplewood Middle School. No student may practice/play without a current physical. Physicals are good for two years. Physical forms can be picked up at the main office or downloaded here. Registration form and fees must be paid before a student may participate. Arrangements can be made for those needing financial assistance and also receive free/reduced lunch.

WHEN ARE PRACTICES? WHO DO THEY PLAY AND WHEN?
Practices typically run from 2:45 until 5:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Athletic events/practices are not held on Wednesdays. Please note that there is only a 4:00 activity bus and athletes should get a ride from parents or set up a ride with a friend.
Activity Buses Activity buses run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. There are two buses, a Maplewood and an Oakdale route. The buses run follow the route, however, students may request to get off anyplace along the route.
Coaches will give out a schedule of practice dates/times and game dates the first week of practice. Game usually begin at 3:45 p.m. . We are aligned with the high schools in the district and are part of the Classic Suburban Conference.
ARE UNIFORMS PROVIDED?
All equipment and uniforms, with the exception of softball/baseball gloves and athletic shoes, are supplied by the school. Students will be responsible for the return of all equipment issued by the end of the season. Failure to return equipment/uniform will result in charges for reimbursement and loss of rights to participate in the middle school sports program.
HOW AND WHEN CAN I REGISTER?
Early registration for fall sports can by completing and returning the registration form with payment to Maplewood Middle School. Registration and information will also be available during back to school night. Remember, registration fees and a current physical are required before a student is eligible to participate.
